La Deutsche Welle es el servicio informativo para el extranjero alemán, tiene sedes en Bonn y Berlín y cuenta con servicio informativo en español.

We are pleased to share with you the article entitled: “Bordadoras de paz colombianas: elaborar las heridas y conservar la memoria” (Colombian peace embroiderers: working out the wounds and preserving the memory), published on 14 December 2020 by the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle.

The article is about the initiative called “Arropar el Palacio de Justicia” (Tearing down the Palace of Justice), an installation by Virgelina Chará, a human rights activist, artist and seamstress from the Colombian Pacific. The fabrics that will cover the façade of the Palace of Justice in Bogotá in 2022 narrate, through embroidery, the personal and collective stories surrounding the armed conflict and the construction of peace in Colombia.

Virgelina Chará has participated in different activities of the Colombian Truth Commission, some of them in association with the Colombo-German Peace Institute – CAPAZ, which supports the German Node.
